“Silk Road Economic Development Research Center 5th Anniversary Banquet” was held by our center

On September 9, 2019, “The 5th Anniversary Banquet” was held by our Center at Ballroom of Conrad Hong Kong for celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Center. It is our honour that Mrs. Regina IP LAU Suk-Yee, member of the Executive Council (ExCo) and Legislative Council of the Hong Kong SAR, Dr. CHAN Pak Li, Bernard, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development , Hong Kong SAR attended as officiating guests of the banquet and Ms. Wang Jun, Deputy Director General of the Research Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong SAR, and Mr. Joseph Chan, Our Center Chairman, delivered welcoming remarks. Dr. CHAN Pak Li, Bernard, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Hong Kong SAR, delivered a speech and the toasting ceremony was hosted by Mr. Terry SU, Director of our Center. Mr. ZHAO Jie, Vice Chairman of Our Center, Dr. Thomas CHAN and Mr. Anthony LAI, Directors of Our Center also attended the Banquet and were the presenters during the lucky draw session.

The Center has always stayed true with its constitution. Other than analyzing the future trend and impact of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Center is also able to provide propositions on how Hong Kong can integrate into the long term development plan of the initiative. As stakeholders and executors of this initiative, the Center hopes to gather likeminded experts to provide in depth analysis on the direction of the initiative as a think tank. Under the support of macro policies, contribute by identifying opportunities for Hong Kong and illustrate with action the role that Hong Kong should embrace in the Belt and Road Initiative. We hope to advance everyone’s understanding of our center and cultivate closer ties between members through this banquet while we recap and look forward to our future development.
