Belt and Road Conference – Tapping Belt and Road Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area
The Belt & Road Initiative is not only a revolutionary Chinese national development strategy but also one of the most valuable global public goods created by China. It aims to promote connectivity between China and the countries along the proposed Belt and Road routes and therefore facilitate common development and prosperity. Leveraging on the advantages of the “One Country, Two Systems” policy, Hong Kong has gained unique strength as an extraordinary international finance center and trading hub. Playing its role as a “super connector”, Hong Kong is able to bridge the Mainland and global markets, while making an all-out effort for the world’s development and prosperity.
This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Belt & Road Initiative. China Daily and the Silk Road Economic Development Research Center are jointly organizing the Belt & Road Conference 2018, scheduled to be held on October 29th at the grand ballroom of Grand Hyatt Hotel Hong Kong. The event is specifically put together to highlight the achievements of the initiative over the years, as well as the experiences and practical knowledge gained throughout.
Speakers at the conference include representatives of government and international organizations, experts, scholars and business leaders. They will summarize the Belt & Road Initiative’s state of development over the past five years, with national strategies and policies in mind. They will also share their insights on any opportunities and challenges the initiative has brought about politically, economically and culturally. More than 400 business leaders, academic researchers and representatives from different sectors are expected to attend the event, which makes it a great opportunity for networking and interacting.
In line with the National Development and Reform Commission’s support for “high-end Belt & Road themed events and international exhibitions held in Hong Kong”, the upcoming conference will fully demonstrate Hong Kong’s unique economic, trade, financial and geographical advantages.
