Before using the Silk Road Economic Research Development Centre (“the Centre”) website (“the Web Site”), please read carefully the following terms and conditions stated below. By accessing the Centre’s website and all pages under the domain of, you unconditionally agree to our terms and conditions. Modifications on these terms and conditions may be carried out without any prior notice, and we would recommend users to check this page from time to time on any modifications made.

The Silk Road Economic Research Development Centre name and Logo

The Silk Road Economic Research Development Centre name and logo are the exclusive property of the Centre. They are protected under the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and any unauthorized use will be prohibited. They may not be copied or reproduced in any way without the prior written permission of the Centre.

The Centre’s Web Site

The Silk Road Economic Research Development Centre is a non-profit organization. The contents within the Web Site are provided for personal use, research and educational purposes only.

Text contents, unless otherwise indicated, are created by the staff and guest writers at the Centre, and are subject to copyright owned by the Centre. Contents may not be reproduced for any commercial purposes. Acknowledgement must be given to the Centre and corresponding party as the source of such text contents for reproduction involving non-commercial use.

Non-text contents are legally purchased, owned by the Centre, or downloaded for fair use on editorial context. Where third party copyright is involved in the non-text contents found on the Centre’s Web Site, authorization or permission to reproduce, distribute or otherwise use any such non-text contents should be obtained from the copyright owners concerned.

Information on this Web Site is provided as a courtesy by the Centre. Any views and opinions of individual authors do not necessarily state or reflect those of the Centre. Accessing the Centre’s Web Site

Whilst we shall use reasonable efforts to provide users with access to the Web Site twenty-four (24) hours per day, we cannot guarantee users’ access and users acknowledge that we make no representation or warranty that the Web Site will be available. Users are responsible for their own hardware, software, and facilities and we cannot guarantee compatibility of this Web Site with the systems of all users.

We shall be entitled, at our sole discretion, to (a) temporarily suspend this Website to upgrade or modify this Website, and/or (b) restrict user’s access to and use of the Web Site where we consider it reasonably necessary for the operation of this Web Site. English and Chinese Versions of the Terms of Use

This Term of Use has been translated into Chinese. If there is any inconsistency or ambiguity between the English and the Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.
