Chairman of Research Centre Invited to the Belt & Road Summit
Hosted by the HKSAR Government, the “Belt & Road Summit” was held on 18th at the Hong Kong Exhibition And Convention Centre in Wan Chai. Officiating guest of the Summit was Zhang De Jiang, the committee member from the Chinese Politburo Standing Committee and the NPC Standing Committee, while speakers were politicians and business leaders from the Belt & Road region.
Over 2400 attended the Summit, with about 200 from Hong Kong. Anson Chan, Henry Cheng Kar-shun and David Li Kwok Po were some of the established attendees. Joseph Chan, the Chairman of our Research Centre, also had the honor to be invited to the event.
Apart from having speakers share insightful information about the Belt and Road, in order to better promote cooperation and people exchange, the Summit also provided different sections for attendees to interact with one another.
Among these sections was the “Concurrent Investment And Business Matching Workshop”, which was an integrated matchmaking and networking platform connecting project owners and operators, investors and services providers from related business sectors.
An exhibition area was also set up, which showcased different services provided by Hong Kong companies in finance, infrastructure and other professional fields. The Global Investment Zone, on the other hand, introduced investment projects by individual countries’ institutions to international investors.
In view of the well reception of the Summit, the HKSAR Government and the HKTDC intend to organize a similar event again next year, Our Centre was told.
