On February 22, 2019, Center Director Mr. Anthony Lai participated in a discussion on “How HK-Mainland law firms can assist the development of the Greater Bay Area” which was held at the Office of Former Chief Executives of the HKSAR. The discussion focused on how Hong Kong law firms and HK-Mainland associated law firms can maximize their advantages, the sector’s needs and regulations in line with the country’s prospects to back the development of the Greater Bay Area. Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Mr. C Y Leung attended and discussed matters with participants. As of December 2018, law firms in China and Hong Kong have established 11 partnership association law firms, 7 of which in Shenzhen, 2 in Zhuhai, and 2 in Guangzhou.
